Alta Via n. 3, the Path of the Chamois, is a high route located in the Dolomites that starts from Villabassa and arrives in Longarone, in the Piave valley. It takes about 10 days to complete, covering a total of about 120 km, with a total elevation gain of about 6000 meters. The route is nicknamed the Path of the Chamois because along the trails you can find many traces of alpine chamois, and you might even encounter some in person. The highest point encountered is on the Forcella Ciadìn del Lòudo, in the Sorapiss group, at 2378 m. With the collaboration of the refuges, it is possible to transport luggage to the various refuges or every 2 stages, although a backpack is usually sufficient.
Alta Via n. 4 of the Dolomites starts from San Candido, passing through the splendid Tre Cime di Lavaredo with Rifugio Locatelli, Rifugio Lavaredo, Rifugio Auronzo up to Rifugio Città di Carpi, continuing towards San Vito di Cadore and Rifugio San Marco, reaching Rifugio Galassi and Rifugio Antelao towards Pieve di Cadore.
