BOOKMore Information
Passo Pordoi, crossed by the Alta Via n.2 which starts from Bressanone and arrives in Feltre, is one of the four passes of the Great Dolomite Road, built in the early 20th century to connect Bolzano with Cortina d’Ampezzo.
In summer, you can enjoy numerous hikes around the pass or decide to take the cable car, which in a few minutes will take you to Sass Pordoi, at 2,950 meters above sea level, from where you will enjoy a unique and spectacular view of the entire area. In winter, the areas around the pass, which are part of the Dolomiti Superski and Sellaronda, offer various ski lifts to reach beautiful ski slopes. At Passo Pordoi, you can visit the German ossuary, which houses the remains of soldiers who died during World War I, and the monument to Fausto Coppi, the most beloved cyclist of the golden age of cycling, who often had this alpine pass as a stage finish.
