For children and teenagers, we also organize special courses that allow children to be in a close-knit group and to discover the mountain together with the instructor during the morning or for the whole day.

With the possibility for the instructor to pick up the students at home to take them to the slopes, the children’s group begins to bond even befhours putting on skis, to then spend a week together full of fun and friendship.

In the long special course, which lasts all day, there is also the possibility to vary the slopes and the ski areas in order to introduce the youngsters to all the mountains of the valley. The instructor will then take the youngsters home at the end of the day.

Who I am

Andrea Curtolo ski instructor in Cortina d'Ampezzo

As a qualified ski instructor in Cortina d’Ampezzo, my career began at 18 years old when I obtained my ski instructor license, a milestone that marked the transition from a youth spent between competitive ski training and snow races to a profession full of satisfaction. My early initiation into this sport has forged a deep experience in teaching skiing, with a special focus on children’s ski courses, a competence strengthened by my specialization acquired in 2002. My priority is to offer a personalized experience to each skier, ensuring that every lesson is a mix of fun and learning, respecting the mountain environment.

The passion for skiing is the engine that drives me to put on the boots at the beginning of the winter season and not take them off until spring, when the meadows of Cortina are tinged with new colors. My connection with this charming town in the Dolomites, where I have lived for over thirty years, renews my love for this winter sport daily, requiring both mental and physical dedication to tackle the snow-covered slopes.

Standing at the top of the last lift in Cortina and contemplating the view is an experience that continues to amaze me and answers the question of many about what makes Cortina and its valley so beloved.

My greatest passion, however, is introducing children to skiing, watching them as they discover the joy of this sport, and seeing them navigate the vast ski slopes with their small skis and helmets confidently. My goal is to teach them to see skiing as a game, and not just as a competition. Ski races are important, but they should come after the initial love and enthusiasm for the sport, a concept that parents should understand befhours worrying about their children’s technical progress.

Every day, when I put on skis, I want to transmit the joy of skiing, respect for the mountains of Cortina, and for the culture of skiing. Skiing is a sport that invites introspection and the pursuit of one’s potential, challenging the mountain with one’s technique and strength. With every descent, the ski technique, balance, angulation, and the position of parallel skis are refined, promising an increasingly rewarding experience.
